Our Process
We take a holistic approach to landscape design
The ideal design is hidden within the slopes, sun exposure and soil composition of a property. This holistic process starts with a site walkthrough followed by an in-depth conversation about how you want to feel in your new space.
After a proposal is approved, the work will be categorized into two phases — design and installation.
Design
Vision
We start with an analysis of the existing site conditions. Then we blend this knowledge with your specific requests to develop the initial concept plan options (generally 2). Each option is accompanied by an inspiration board to convey the look and feel.
Distillation
Taking feedback from client presentations, the concepts are refined into one plan. An initial material and planting palette is also developed. It is in this phase that initial details of built elements are designed.
Precision
Once the design is set, we start the drafting process. Dimensioned plans, details, and schedules for planting and hardscape materials are created. These are the drawings that are used by the contractor to develop your bid.
Installation
Cultivate
We work with you and the contractor to establish a clear bid. We assist the contractor in sourcing materials and plants to ensure that the design intent is carried through the installation.
Plant
We conduct regular site visits during construction and are available to communicate with the client to answer any questions and facilitate communication with the contractor. We always place all plants on planting day (aka the best day).
Grow
After completion of the project, we do a final walk-through with the client to “nerd out” on the plants and tell them all about their new garden. After installation, we will visit the site again in the following month to ensure plants are growing happily.
